7171.0. "Novell Netware and Banner disable" by EVTAI1::LEREUIL () Fri Apr 18 1997 04:44

Hi,My customer has a lps32 shared over the network, this machine has been
loaded by Unix and he has encountered a problem with a disable FLAG AND BANNER
page, the BANNER FLAG are always printed, it's the same thing with or without
modifications in the file ETC\LPSODB.
When the same printer uses only Openvms or only UNIX ,the disable Flag Trailer
and Burst ie:(dcps) works correctly, I don't have any flag or trailer or burst
only the documents are printed .
where is the mistake ? or perhaps a bug ?
the printerserver Novell Netware version is 5.1
the server NOVELL is 4.1

thanks indeed for a quick help

7171.1diable the banner from NetwareNECSC::RUSSELLTue Apr 29 1997 10:1427
Here is how I disable the banner page from NEtware print clients.

Login as Supervisor on any workstaion connected to the fileserver controller
the LPSSERV.NLM, For V4.* systems login admin/b.

from DOS prompt..

cd sys:\lps\adm

edit bannerpage.psh

The last postscript statement in this file should be commented out.

ie)

% (xxxxx)showpage

The percent " % " sign will disable the " showpage " command. This showpage
statment is the command that generates a bannerpage from Netware fileservers.

After the modifications have been made. You must UNLOAD the LPSSERV.NLM
and reLOAD the LPSERVE.NLM for this to take effect.
