| I'm not sure I understand where the problem is. I'm going to assume
this is a PostScript job because we don't have a PCL driver yet for the
LN17ps. What application and printer driver are you using? Regardless,
PostScript jobs in general can't be modified by the OpenVMS DCPS
PAGE_ORIENTATION parameter, you have to modify it at the source. But
what setting are you changing on the printer itself?
Since I'm guessing, can you describe your problem in more detail?

| After doing some testing of my own, it appears that along with VMS,
printing from Exchange still prints portrait even though you specify
landscape in your print setup in Exchange unless you specifically
change the orientation setup on the printer itself.
Is this the same type problem as printing from VMS?
Thanks,
Joe

| What kind of file are you printing from VMS? Using LATSYM or DCPS?
What driver are you using on Windows NT?

| From VMS just printing ascii text with the printer setup using the
UCX$TELNETSYM processor...I understand DCPS does not support telnet
protocols.
Under Windows Nt we're using the Digital LN17PS driver...

| The only printer-resident "orientation" setting is in the PCL language
setup menu, so this must be a PCL job if this setting is effective.
Given that the printer is working, then this is a PCL driver or Exchange
problem, right?

| I believe you may be correct. Exchange prints portrait even when you
specify landscape...unless you change the printer itself to landscape.
