7125.0. "DCPS problem with tcp/ip and Declaser 3500" by 47836::BAGNASCO (De Consolatione Philosophiae) Thu Mar 20 1997 05:11
Hi,
a customer cannot print on a Declaser 3500 using DCPS V1.2/1.3
with tcp/ip.
The job remains in starting and messages like the following
are reported by OPCOM:
%%%%%%%%%%% OPCOM 19-MAR-1997 11:18:50.72 %%%%%%%%%%%
Message from user SYSTEM on THYCO
Queue GESSUB: %DCPS-W-NOT_READY, Printer is not ready
-SYSTEM-F-REJECT, connect to network object rejected
The printer is reacheable with $ucx ping and it works fine using a
lpr queue or a lat dcps queue.
I tried a similar configuration at office, and I got the same
problems. (Please see the attached text, where is reported the
problem reproduced on node THYCO).
DCPS licenses OPEN and PLUS are loaded.
Can someone tell me what's wrong?
Thanks in advance,
paolo

Hi , you cannot declare a Declaser 3500 with TCP/IP address on P2
this only reserved for the Printserver ie : lps32
In the next release DCPS 1.4 you could access on the Desktop printer
by TCP/IP only with the printers Raw Tcp/ip card this card is not
implemented for the 3500 , but you can use UCX symbiont by ucx$lprsetup
Hop this help
