7122.0. "ln17ps and pcl fonts" by CSCMA::RUSSELL () Fri Mar 14 1997 12:59

I have a customer that just replaced an 2100 printer with an LN17ps
    printer,

His question is how can use the pcl fonts available from cardridge on
    the new LN17ps printer?

These are Fortran files that the customer is trying to print using
    the pcl fonts.

    Thanks for the help,
    Lynda

What PCL fonts on what cartridge?

What 2100? DEClaser 2100?
I don't recall that that printer ever supported PCL.
Is there supposed to be a connection?

The device in question is the ln17ps, I just wanted to know how
to include the pcl fonts in the printer with Fortran files.

    Thank You,

    Re: .1

The DEClaser 2000 series did have a PCL emulation cartridge and I
believe PCL font cartridges as well. Check ANSI_PRINTING for details.

    Re: .2

While the LN17ps has physical slots for PCL font cartridges, those
slots are not supported. If the customer has PCL soft fonts, the
Windows 3.1/95 PCL printer driver can support downloading them. We
would need more information about the customers original and new
printing environment to answer more completely.

The USer's Manaul- appendix D has alist of control panel options,
In "test"mode will allow you to print PCL fonts that are resident in
the priner, the customer is all set now.

Thanks to Liz Holland for pointing this out,
