7114.0. "LN17ps PPD for Interleaf" by MLNCSC::DELLAPERGOLA () Fri Mar 07 1997 05:58

	Hi

a customer buyed from DEC a LN17ps to use on VMS 5.5-2
	and DCPS 1.3.

He would like to print from Interleaf products.

When Interleaf prints it creates a file in .PL format
and then converts it in a .PS using a PPD file.

He has tried to use PPD file present on the distribution
floppy for this printer (dcln17_1.ppd), but this doesn't
	work.

There is a specified PPD for VMS/Interleaf? If yes how can
	I get it?

	Thanks and best regards
	Anna Della Pergola

Neither DCPS nor OpenVMS use PPD files. We provide no files for Interleaf on
OpenVMS.

If Interleaf uses a PPD file to print, is it the same as one for a Macintosh or
PC?

Interleaf is one of the applications that require a version 3
PostScript Printer Description (PPD) file. Nearly every other program
and printer driver (at least at their current shipping versions) in the
industry uses a version 4.2 or later PPD file.

Since the need for this tends to be rare, we haven't generally made
version 3 PPD files available. BUT, it so happens we do have one for
the LN17ps that came as part of the Macintosh driver kit. You can find
it on the PSB internal driver site as a separate file:
