7087.0. "LN17 time server support" by CRONIC::LEMONS (And we thank you for your support.) Wed Feb 19 1997 15:53

On the LN17, a HELP DEFINE NODE returns the following:

    DEFINE NODE DNIC-E'Net
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use this command to define a node in the node table.

SET NODE [NAME node-name ] [GATEWAY [DEFAULT] [NETIP ip-address]]
DEFINE [IP ip-address ] [NAMESERVER [DEFAULT]]
      CHANGE [NETSERVER [DEFAULT]]
                                     [TIMESERVER [DEFAULT]]
                                     [NPSERVER]
                                     [NFSERVER]
                                     [TCPIP]
                                     [ALIAS alias-name]
                                     [ID "string"]

I want to learn more about this TIMESERVER support. I don't see this
documented in any of the manuals that came with the LN17. What type of
time synchronization is used (sntp, ntp, time/udp, time/tcp)?

    Thanks
    tl
