7082.0. "Word file on LPS17" by CSCMA::RUSSELL () Fri Feb 14 1997 13:53

Hi,

I've been working a DSNlink customer call for sometime now.

I thought I had the problem was fixed after installing the
new "Adobe PrintDrivers v3.0.1" on Windows V3.1, it did not.

The customer claims that when she selects the envelope tray from Word,
it defaults to the default lower input-tray (letter sized paper).

I poked around a little with this yesterday, From Word, there is a
"Tools" option that sets up the papertray. I wrote down each step and
sent the instructions to the customer.

Well my instructions did not work, here is the reply to the problem...

I am doing the following as you mentioned in your note:

Select Word->Tools->Envelope/Labels ->Options->Print options.

I do not see "DEFAULT TRAY", but I see "FEED FROM:" and this does show
ENVELOPE for the tray. However, it still feeds from the default lower
tray. I then tried changing the source tray to be the envelope one
through FILE, PAGE SETUP in Word and also through Windows in the Control
Panel, I tried setting the default tray to be the envelope feeder tray but
it still does not work.

Thank you,

    Lynda - It may make a difference which of the many versions of Word the
    customer is using. Can you get this info? Also, how is the printer
    being loaded/configured?

7082.4Special queue?RDVAX::LEVYRun Like an AntelopeMon Feb 24 1997 19:468
    We have not had this exact scenario, but for our LSR2000 printers, we
    set up queues on NT explicitly for the manual input tray for overheads.
    These queues are set up so that they draw ONLY from this tray.

    Perhaps your customer needs the same type of setup?
