7081.0. ""can't assign requested address" from HP-UX" by CSCMA::HOLLAND () Fri Feb 14 1997 09:00
I am working with a customer who is trying to boot a turbo LPS20
which has the memory upgrade with PrintServer Software V5.1 from
HP-UX.
We are using the bootpd that came with the LPS V5.1 kit. When the
bootp daemon sees the boot request the syslog shows us that the
hardware address was found in the bootptab. Then the follow error
occurs:
IOCTL (SIOCSARP) can't assign requested address
Is this a problem with the IP address he is trying to assign to the
printer or what? I tried pinging the printer's address to see if it
was a duplicate and got no response. What does this error mean?
Thanks.
