| Let me try the short version:
You have one 3500 that when loaded with a brand new toner cartridge
still thinks that its toner is low.
If you first put the new toner cartridge in another 3500, then move it to
the questionable printer, it usually works, but not always for a long time.
You replaced the questionable printer and the problem goes away.
Do you have one bad 3500 that just has trouble detecting toner low?

7055.2 | Two printers showing this problem | MPOS02::NEWSTROM | | Sat Jan 25 1997 21:40 | 6 |
| Nope, I replaced the 3500 that had the problem with another from
logistics and it also had the same problem, so it is at least two
that do this with multiple new cartridges tried. How is the toner
sensed in these units? I don't see any adjustments in the manual,
just looking for voltages present. As the units do work with an older
or used cartridge, I would guess that the proper voltages are present.

7055.3 | try a dranitz | PTOSS1::MATSCHERZ | | Sun Jan 26 1997 16:24 | 6 |
| I'd get a dranitz out there and check their power. It would be the
most likely problem now. We've had problems with shading on LPS17's
and that was the solution.

7055.4 | probably not environment | MPOS02::NEWSTROM | | Mon Jan 27 1997 11:28 | 4 |
| I had suspected environment,but as I mentioned in the original note,
when I moved the printer, the problem moved with the printer/new
cartridge to an environment where a working printer formerly resided.
And the working printers continued to work in the suspect environment.

7055.5 | I'd still suggest a power check | PTOSS1::MATSCHERZ | | Mon Jan 27 1997 17:48 | 5 |
| I'd still check the power. Maybe something is taking something else
out. It's a common problem with power stuff.
