| I know this string is almost a year old, but we recently had a similar
problem and found an interesting solution.
Our user was complaining that the 3500 would periodically and "randomly"
start requesting paper from the multipurpose tray. The printer would
produce the flag page correctly from the internal tray, but would then want
the multipurpose for the document.
After spending MUCH too much time trying to configure the Windows NT Server
from which the printer is served to only offer the internal tray, we
started trying to navigate the menu on the front panel. Low and behold, we
could not select LETTER from the internal tray...it insisted that it was
A4.
In frustration I removed the paper tray and found, much to my
embarassment, that the paper end guide tab had been moved to the A4
position the last time paper was loaded and never moved back. Returning it
to the LETTER position solved the problem.
Perhaps my stupidity will save someone a few hours of head-banging in the
future. :-)
