Hi, Is it possible to do the following : PC-----Cisco router ! ! ISDN ! ! ! ! Cisco Router ! ! ----------------- SAP servers The PC need access to SAP, However, the customer wants the cisco router to be configured for dial on demand so that the ISDN link is up only when a sap transaction is required. However, they would like to avoid loging in to sap every time. Is there any keepalive packets sent and/or required after the sap connection is established ???? Is there anybody else doing this ??? Tx Michel

Michel, One of our customers uses ISDN to connect to SAP's OSS and the router (not clear if it's cisco or not) brings up the dial-up connection at the first connect request and drops it after an inactivity time out. Works fairly well, but there is a slight delay during the dial-up connection. There was some early startup problems, but they were mostly due to lack of ISDN circuits into Foster City. -doug |
