| It sounds like a hardware problem. Try running a diagnostic.

I've had similar problems running scandisk under Win95.
By booting from a dos 6.22 floppy, I was able to get defrag to complete
after running scandisk/thorough on C:.

2954.3 | Disk Doctor is still around. | DANGER::ARRIGHI | and miles to go before I sleep | Thu Jun 05 1997 19:08 | 8 |
| Norton Disk Doctor is in the Norton Utilities package and although my
disk problems have been few, it has fixed them without problem. The
same package has the Norton version of the defragger (Speed Disk) and
quite a bit of other useful stuff.
The current version of NU for Win95 is v2.0.

| Looks like a h/w problem - we sucked everything off and tried to format
the drive. It failed. It's the old PC hospital for that one
This notebook is ONLY 8 weeks old and that's the 2nd time we've had to
reformat the hard drive (the first time, the network adaptor drivers
blew up so badly that we needed to start afresh)
Great machine
