I have a desktop PC at my home and a HiNote for roaming etc. and when necessary I network them to share shares. Recently the desktop has started behaving strangely after what I suspect is a partial disk corruption (drivespace to blame???). Symptoms are - network is up between both (ping etc OK) - hinote can access shares on desktop - when attempting to map from desktop to hinote get illegal operation (page fault) from mprexe.exe and generally windows falls to pieces. - I've noticed no other symptoms or side effects in other apps e.g. dial-up n/w works just fine (Exchange, internet etc etc) I've tried a few things: - reinstalled W95 - changed network card/drivers - changed SCSI card (have had some doubts about that for some time) but the symptoms remain the same. It's not a complete show stopper as I can 'push' files from the hinote but it's a pain in the lower regions. Any thoughts??? Cheers, John Bury

I think there is a problem and fix in the Microsoft knowledge base for this. Search for mprexe.exe. I think it's something to do with your password file. (.PWL) mike |
