I recently reinstalled win95, and now get no dialing tones from dial up networking. i get the tones when dialing without DUN, but not with it its a hinote laptop, without a sound card, so the tones should come from the pc speaker. any ideas

Checking the obvious -- in DUN, check modem properties -- is "disable modem speaker" checked? I assume this would default to the same as is set in modem properties under control panel, but it's worth double-checking. | |||||

Hello, In your control panel, select modem icon. In the list, select your modem entry. Click after on Properties. Click after on the Advenced Options button and look if you have no ATl0m0 additionnal command string .... atl0m0 is used to turn off the modem speaker when dialling and while the connection ...
