2838.0. "Fonts displaying as "Wing Dings"" by BICYCL::RYER (Don't give away the home world....) Mon Mar 10 1997 09:57
Does anyone have any ideas on this one?
On some applications, windows display with fonts that look like wingdings. It
was initially something that was not too pressing, it occurred in Compton's
Encyclopedia and in Compuserve's WOW (which I used only a short time :-)).
But it's a real problem with TurboTax '96, as all the forms print out using
wingding symbols (you know, stars, little scissors, pencil nubs, etc). I've
tried completely reinstalling Win95, but that didn't help. When I go look at
fonts (even some true types) some or all of the point sizes will have
windding symbols displayed. I've tried deleting all the fonts that have this
problem, in hopes that TTax will try to use some other font, as I haven't
been able to find an ini file that might specify what fonts TTax is trying to
use that gives this problem. Any help on this will be appreciated.
