2819.0. "Spin down/up SCSI disk" by COOKIE::FROEHLIN (Let's RAID the Internet!) Thu Feb 27 1997 16:38
Anyone using a system which can spin down/up SCSI disks based on a
timer? I think EZSCSI for Adaptec controllers has such a utility.
What about controller independent solutions? BIOS, program, Windows 95
add-on/patch, mini-port drivers etc.
I can spin down my SCSI system disk connected to a NCR810 controller. But
Windows 95 either spins it up because of some disk activity, or
fails with a blue box disk read error, or crashes with a blue box
exception error. Works fine on my laptop where only the data disk
is SCSI.
Thanks
Guenther
