Does anyone know what rnaapp.exe is? Yesterday, one of our home systems wasn't responding. I pressed control-alt-del and it showed this program as "not responding". I killed this task and the system was ok. I did some further investigation and it seems that this program is related to dial-up networking and seems to come into play only after I have disconnected from a dial-up networking connection. That is, it isn't present after a reboot and it isn't present while a dial-up networking connection is active, but only appears after disconnecting. The only other details are that the problem occurred just this one time and may have been several hours after the last networking connection. The computer was also likely idle for several hours as well. Tom --- Dictated using DragonDictate.

2814.1 | Rnaapp is a pain.. | PTOSS1::MATSCHERZ | Tue Feb 25 1997 09:53 | 22
I've had real problems with that thing. I noticed mine were related to after a install of internet explorer v 3.0 . The os kept crashing with rnaapp errors and I even went as far as getting First Aid for windows to correct the crashes. (that really didn't help and led to a whole bunch of other problems ;( ) I eventually deleted all references to Internet explorer (it's a piece of crappy software IMHO ) . Then I downloaded (for at least the 5th time) The new version of IE (v 3.01) . After reloading a couple of times (more stupid problems) I was finally able to get the whole freaking thing to work. What a pain. I haven't been getting any more errors so I can assume that my problems were related to that IE 3.0 . Also, I reloaded the service pack 1 and all the others krn update , isdn update , etc... (4 or 5 others too) . I've since installed the win95 os on some other pc's and found that by doing all the updates and a full new install that everything works pretty good. I've got some friends that are having trouble as well and will have to spend some time doing a reconfig of those also. l8tr.. Stevem.. Win95 + dial up networking + microsoft exchange = WORK FOR EVERYONE !

re: .0 fwiw: On my system, RNAAP is active whenever I have a DUN/PPP connection up and running. Never have any problems attributable to it either... |
