| RE: .22
I just bought a Gateway 2000 [P5 200 MMX] system and I trashed [on
purpose] my C drive to reinstall Windows 95.
Even though I had created a startup disk before trashing the C drive
when I came to boot the system, before starting the installation, it
would not allow me to see the CD-ROM drive!
Lucky I had my laptop around so I went into the GW2K web site in
Ireland and also in the US. Anyway I found an image which I exploded
onto a floppy and it generated a bootable diskette that had the correct
files so you could see the CD drive and so be able to start the
installation.
Seems bloody weird that this is the situation... Anyway next step is to
generate a tidy version of this diskette and keep it safe and sound for
the next time...
Dave
