Have a question.... Running Windows95, When I "right-click" my mouse on
any page in Netscape Gold V3.01, a drop-down menu displays with:
Back
Forward
Add Bookmark
Internet Shortcut
Using Internet shortcut, I can easily create a desktop icon to quickly
get to that page again.
Problem:
Multiple users in my area were just upgraded to Windows95 and when they
do the same "right-click", the Internet Shortcut option is not there.
We reinstalled Netscape and the problem remains. I'm puzzled.
The $64K question is:
Do I need to enable/install some option either within Netscape or
Windows95 for them to get the same functionality? I'm trying to
get everyone running the same.

| Funny, I'm using Navigator Gold 3.01 (W95)
when I right-click, I get several options,
Back, Forward, Save Background As...,
Set as Wallpaper & Add Bookmark
Are you sure the Internet Shortcut option wasn't
from Microsoft Internet Explorer?
(my NT/Alpha Netscape Navigator 3.01 just has
Back, Forward & Add Bookmark)

| I'm sure it's from Netscape....Neither my PC or the others in the
group have MS IE... That's the puzzle. This is why I'm leaning
towards a Win95 setup/issue at this point. Maybe I'll check my
registry to see if there's any difference between machines.

| My Netscape shows the Internet Shortcut in the right-click menu on all
of my systems (Win95, NT 4.0). I don't have MS Internet Excluder
installed at all.

| Fixed!!!!!
I cross posted this in the Internet Tools notesfile and received
the
following fix. I was told to see if the "URL.DLL" file was either
missing or corrupt from the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory as some
application installs can mess with or overwrite this file.
Bingo!!!! I looked on 2 of the newly upgraded systems and neither
had the "url.dll" file. I copied it down and it worked perfectly!
(Didn't even have to reboot the PC). Many thanks for the fix,
for now I can get all these users (75 +) on the same page.
