| Netscape stopped working.
I had Netscape 2.0 and Netscape 3.0 on my home system. V3 installed
itself in Program Files\Netscape\Program\Program. I wanted to remove one
level of directory, so I removed it, deleted the directory and
reinstalled. I got the files in the directories I wanted, but now it
never starts up completely.
When it starts, the small splash window stays on the display until
the phone connection is established. This is new. Then it never connects
to anything. NB, the proxy servers are all set to www-proxy.tay1.dec.com,
which works from NT machines in the office. I tried deleting everything
from the registry with the word "Netscape" in it, deleting the directory
tree and reinstalling and the behavior is unchanged. What should I try next?
