Hi, ultrix-wizards, a customer asked me what timezone-entry he needs for Hong-Kong in an Ultrix kernel-configuration-file. Hongkongi-time is (I think) GMT + 9 hours, so, since the timezones West of GMT have to be preceeded by a minus (I read somewhere) the entry should be something like: "-9 dst x" What does "x" stand for? I couldn't find a definition anywhere. Our systems (MET) have the entry "-1 dst 4", whatever 4 may represent. Can you point me to a detailed description or tell me what the second number represents. Regards, Corina

Oh, sorry, there is a little confusion in what I wrote above: Hong-Kong ist East of Greenwich and should have the timezone-setting 9 dst x. I found out that x is some regional code for dst. e.g. x=1 for automatically dst-changing in usa, x=4 for dst in MET-Zone a.s.o. Does anyone know what's the value of x for Hong Kong? Regards, Corina |
