Hi, I need to install Ultrix in a DECsystem 5100, and I would like to do it with Ultrix v4.5. I don't have a CD-ROM media kit and I think that could exist an address where I can download the software. I have done that before but with OpenVMS. Again, I don't know if the software is available through the network. If there is a DECNET address or INTERNET where I can find ULTRIX v4.5, Please Let me Know !!! Sorry if I'm making a terrible mistake. Regards, Franklin Nunez / Henry Rojas MCS-Digital Equipment de Venezuela. [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

Because ULTRIX was licensed software and we had to pay a royalty to somebody for ever copy we used internally, it was not easily accessible. There was a system in place to register for kits to get access to them, which was described in the OSKITS conference. The Digital UNIX kits were available via ftp, but this has recently changed to a Web browser interface (http://webkits.zk3.dec.com). It doesn't look like webkits handles the ULTRIX kits, so it may still be available the old way. Try a title search on "kits" and check the OSKITS conference. |
