Hi ;-) This is my first visit at this conference. My customer uses Ultrix 4.2 and is unhappy because his program cannot be compiled be comp ofiled becau. The rough error message is following: Assembler:/tmp/ctm230723, line 9629: branch to far -43947b, try -J flag. To speak in frankly, my customer already uses the flag of -J, this seems not to be enough for long long ... branch. I guess V4.3 is all right, because cc(C compiler) of ULTRIX V4.3 has no flag of J. But is there other method, idea or view, except upgrade OS version ? And do you think V4.3 is all right for this problem ? Thank you in advance. Jeong-eun Kim Seoul.

Well, he could get the gcc compiler and try using it. ULTRIX V4.2 was released in May 1991. There have been five versions of ULTRIX released since then. ULTRIX V4.5 is the current version and still supported. If he has a problem there and has a support contract, he can use the official support channels to get a fix, if there is one. |
