664.0. "EVM Record Definition" by HGOVC::STEVENCHEUNG () Mon Jan 27 1997 03:19
Hi,
I've a customer who wants to have a report of transaction response time for
its major application. They defined a transaction as the time between when the
user presses F10 key and when the control comes back to the terminal. The
current response time for the F10 key is ranging from 30 to 120 seconds.
By looking at the response time in the CP report, it shows sub-second response
time. I believe the response time in the CP has included the other keys pressed
by the user such as tab key. I wonder if there is any way to classify the
transaction response times into small, medium, and large transactions for
each process so that I can isolate those insignificant keystrokes from
the major keystrokes which do the real processing. I've used the
Event Monitor for data collection and used the .EVM for data integration but
seem not much help.
How do I read the data records of the .EVM file ? Where can I find the
record definition for .EVM file ? The other way I think I can do will be
to look at the .EVM file.
Thanks for your promptly reply in advance.
