Can anyone suggest a good Joe Tex compilation. Last heard him in the
70's when he had a UK hit with "Dont dance no more, big fat woman".
Appreciate any help.
Thanks

Well, the first one to get is "I Believe I'm Gonna Make It: The Best of
Joe Tex, 1964-1972" (Rhino R2-70191 CD, cassette also avail.).
You can branch out into newer stuff from there -- "Show Me: The Hits... &
More" on Ichiban CD and tape.
You may even be able to branch out earlier -- there's a King "Best of".
Have no idea what that is.
Joe Tex traveled and was friendly with the Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett,
Percy Sledge group, lots of family feeling there at the time. Definitely
always had his own sound & identity, though! 8) - Jay
