4284.0. "V5.0E ECO1, Server stops responding" by VMSNET::J_DOUGLAS () Wed May 07 1997 18:41
Hello,
Took a call where the customer said that all share connections
were droped by the server for all users.
Admin/anal & NET ERROR /REV did not report any errors that
seemed related.
The only errors that showed up at about the same time users
found that they could not access their shares anylonger were:
PWRK$LMMCP_NODE.LOG
LKLock: resource lock deadlock on <PWRK$SHR>
PCS_SetConnectionLevel: group name has not been declared
Are either of these two messages of any importance to what might
have caused all the users to loose their access ?
The customer is running V5.0E ECO1. I have requested that the
next time it happens that he try doing a NET START command from
DCL to see if the server is responding to NET commands from VMS.
He told me that the pwshow command showed that the pathworks
processes were in HIB at the time of the problem, and there is
nothing else in any of the log files that points to a problem
from what he could see.
Any help given is appreicated.
Thanks,
Johnny.

| How about a simple network error.
If somebody pulls the cable that this is
exactly what you get.
