I just installed PATHWORKS V5.0E ECO1 on one system of our cluster (separate system-disks!). I always thought that from version 5.0C onwards, it should be possible to connect a Windows NT 4.0 system without pathworks installed at all, to a VMS PW server using NETBEUI. This works for example on my old Ultrix box, which runs Pathworks for Ultrix V1.3c. All our NT boxes can mount a share there without having PW installed. Should this work for VMS as well ?? If yes, how ?? Thanks for any help ... Manfred

The connection to the ultrix 1.3 box MUST be over TCPIP, free (ish) with both ultrix and NT. A NT box can connect to a VMS system without PW installed on the NT box if the VMS bos is running a compatible transport (TCPIP, NETBEUI) and has server based licenses. Can you even see the vms box fron=m the browser. No can see USUALY means on compatable transport, Can see no CONNECT and message of to many connections already USUALY maen no license. Trev |
