Ciao Ragazzi I have a customer with a NT4.0 SP2 Server as PDC and a Pathworks for OpenVMS with PWV5.0D ECO3 as BDC, NT4.0 WS as clients. All homedirectorys are on the PW-server. When a client boots his PC, and log in, he has his permissions and every thing is ok. The client logs out, and a other client log in at the same PC, he has the same permissions like the client bevore. That meens, he can connect and work on the homedrive from the client bevore. After log out, the session is still connected. They use TCP/IP as transport. Has anyone seen this before ? Thanks for any answer Ezio Savoldelli

Looks like the problem of the quarter. Some of these issues are either resolved in V50E-ECO1 (due out soon) or they are being fixed now, to be in the next release (V50F). Go to V50E-ECO1 when it comes out, and if the bug still exists (I think it will), IPMT the case to get a patch. | |||||

If NT doesn't send a ULOGOFF or removes the session all together then the session remains active. NT does things like that, especially when you have background tasks. F.e. Start a service with user/passw that continegously reads files from server. After logoff the session is not terminated because the service is still active. So, make an IRIS trace and locate the source of the problem. I bet its NT Adrie |
