Hi! According to the PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (LAN Manager) 5.0E Release Notes DCPS 1.2 is included with the software. \\\\\..... ..... .....///// 2.2 DECprint Supervisor for OpenVMS DECprint Supervisor (DCPS) for OpenVMS V1.2 is included on separate media as a separately installable product called DCPSVAX012 for VAX systems, and DCPSAXP012 for Alpha systems. DECprint Supervisor provides access to the OpenVMS queuing system for selected PostScript printers. For more information about the DECprint Supervisor, refer to the DECprint Supervisor documentation. \\\\\..... ..... .....///// However, when you take a look at the savesets it has the following... \\\\\..... ..... .....///// DCPSAXP010.A;1 DCPSAXP010.B;1 DCPSAXP010.C;1 DCPSVAX010.A;1 DCPSVAX010.B;1 DCPSVAX010.C;1 DCPSVAX010.D;1 PWRKV50E050.A;1 PWRKV50E050.B;1 PWRKV50E050.C;2 PWRKV50E050.D;1 PWRKV50E050.E;2 PWRKV50E050.F;1 PWRKV50E050.G;2 PWRKV50E050.H;1 VAXPWF11X01_060.A;1 VAXPWF11X01_060.B;1 VAXPWF11X01_060.C;1 VAXPWF11X01_060.RELEASE_NOTES;1 \\\\\..... ..... .....///// These are the 1.0B savesets, right? Inquiring customers would like to know. Were the wrong files included on the distribution media? Thanks! -- Marqui CSC/Atlanta

Well how about that! SWOPS definitly has the wrong savesets... We are trying to determine what SSB shipped to the customers, I can't find a copy of the media shipped to customers, anyone out there have one handy who can look at what was shipped? FWIW, it seems like this may have been in error on 5.0D also.

4187.3 | Verrrrrry confusing! | THEBAY::WIEGLEB | Voracious schools of lottery girls | Wed Mar 19 1997 17:43 | 48 |
The SSB media includes the DCPS*010.% savesets. Not V1.1, not V1.2, and not V1.3 (which is the current version). To make things even more confusing, the release notes say: " This software kit includes support for both VAX and Alpha systems and consists of the following BACKUP savesets: __________________________________________________________ Saveset_Name________OpenVMS_System________________________ [...] DCPSAXP012.A Alpha DCPSAXP012.B Alpha DCPSAXP012.C Alpha DCPSVAX012.A VAX DCPSVAX012.B VAX DCPSVAX012.C VAX" and: "This release of PATHWORKS for OpenVMS is distributed as part of the PATHWORKS for OpenVMS software kit, which includes the following: o PATHWORKS V5.0E for OpenVMS (LAN Manager), software o PATHWORKS V1.0E for OpenVMS (NetWare), software o Separately installable improved OpenVMS file system (XQP+) o Separately installable PATHWORKS license server o DECprint Supervisor for OpenVMS Version 1.3" Oooooops! - Dave
4187.4 | SSB is fixing this | CPEEDY::GTAYLOR | Fri Mar 21 1997 21:03 | 16
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The kit is being fixed now. 2 things happened here: 1. SSB decided not to re-ship the separate DCPS CD to the update customer list (They already had DCPS). New customers receive the kit, but update customers do not. 2. We happened to have DCPS V1.0 in the same location that the kit was pulled by SSB - so it was included on the same CD as PATHWORKS. This is being fixed now. We will not re-ship the kit however. Regards, Gale Taylor Product Manager |
