Hi people A customer who is currently running approx 60 PW4 servers around the country (Australia) wants to upgrade them to PW5 server on OpenVMS with the minimum number of domains. The problem is that they cannot run TCP/IP over their whole WAN, only DECnet, due to the routers they are using and licenseing costs. In my digging around to date I have been unable to find out if PW Server 5.0E supports this, or if PW Server 6 will support this DECnet only WAN design for a single/ minimal LM Domain strategy. Thanks in advance Paul Cordwell NSIS (Sydney, Australia). [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

Paul, Wait for confimation, but my understanding is that functionality for domains to span a WAN will always be TCP/IP only. It's definitely TCP/IP only in v5.0E and I've heard no mention of DECnet WAN domain support in v6... Paul |
