4149.0. "%RMS-F-RAC, invalid record access mode" by CTHU22::M_MORIN (Mario Morin, Hull CSC - Canada) Fri Feb 07 1997 10:36
Hi,
Everytime a user initially connects to the 1st share on our server
on a given session, the following error gets logged in $ADMIN/ANAL:
================= EVENT #20 ==================

Everything seems to work fine thereafter but we're wondering what
could be the cause. We've noticed that the file "pwrk$lanman:sharefile."
has the following record format on a $dir/full:
Record format: Variable length, maximum 1959 bytes
while on other systems that don't have the error the record format is:
Record format: Variable length, maximum 1959 bytes, longest 0 bytes
PATHWORKS Server V5.0E
OpenVMS V6.1
Problem has been around for a while, way before V5.0E was installed.
Thanks for any useful input.
/Mario

| BTW one more thing.
This only happens to Win95 clients, NT 4.0 clients do not
cause the error.
We haven't tried Win, WFW, or DOS clients.
