In addition to what Bjorn writes, check the TCP/IP packet size from the NT systems on the FDDI. I have seen problems like yours where it was the NT systems sending packets of 4363 bytes on FDDI, which is illegal. These packets disappears somewhere in the DEChubs. This gives strange problems, where some servers seems to work and some dont, and then suddenly they work again. To avoid this the MTU size must be set on the NT servers on the FDDI. Largests legal packet size for TCP/IP on FDDI is 4352. The easy way to check the packet size is to install SMS's Netmon on the NT systems on the FDDI. Jesper |
