I costumer has bought an Alphaserver 400 with VMS and DECwindows Motif (FIS). He noticed that, when he tried to configure the keyboard in Decwindows, his keyboard, an LK471AV (AV stands for portuguese), does not appear in the Decwindows keyboard option. He complains that when he tries to do the "/" (backslash that is on the number 7 key), he gets nothing. The key is working because he can do the "7". I have searched for some articles on this and found zip. Can someone give me a hand? NelsonR.

Have him try either the PORTUGUESE_LK444AV_LK - LK4xx style function keys PORTUGUESE_LK444AV_PC - PC-style function keys I'm not sure how different an LK471AV is than these, but I suspect the are very close. Each entry in the list of keyboards is simply a file in DECW$KEYMAP:*.DECW$KEYMAP. If there needs to changes to the keymap, you can just make a copy, rename it, and edit it to include any changes. It will then show up in the list of keyboards. Doug |
