5773.0. "Fileview now starts session manager after ECO VAXMOTIF07_U3012" by COMICS::JOLLEYD () Wed Feb 12 1997 08:55

Hello all,

After installing VAXMOTIF07_U3012 my customer goes to session manager
selects application and then fileview and another session manager
	appears.

mc vue$master has the correct effect and fileview fires up.

$dir/date=mod verifies that sys$system:vue$master.exe was not
	updated by the patch installation.

	$dir/date=mod verifies that sys$library:vue$mastershr.exe *was*
	updated by the patch installation.

For the version of vue$mastershr installed by Motif 1.2-3,
	$analyze/image shows Image Identification Information

                image name: "VUE$MASTERSHR"
                image file identification: "DW V1.2-4960312"
                link date/time: 12-MAR-1996 19:53:51.34
                linker identification: "05-05"

For the version of vue$mastershr.exe installed by VAXMOTF07_U3012,
which replaced the above, $analyze/image shows Image Identification
	Information

                image name: "VUE$MASTERSHR"
                image file identification: "DW V1.2-3960215"
                link date/time: 29-FEB-1996 17:43:30.37
                linker identification: "05-05"

In other words, both link date/time and file id for the patch version
seem earlier than the standard version in Motif 1.2-3

Is this correct and does it have any bearing on the Fileview problem?

Customer is running 6.1 of VMS.

	Regards

	Darren.

It looks like the customer was running V1.2-4, not V1.2-3, so they should
have installed VAXMOTF01_U4012 instead of VAXMOTF07_U3012. They should
re-install DECwindows Motif V1.2-4.
