7404.0. "Dllde450.exe NET3778 error on Netbios broadcast over DecNet" by UTRTSC::HARLE () Fri Jun 06 1997 05:09
There is a problem in the native driver for the DE450
card. I tried installing the newest version I could get
(DLLDE450.EXE V5.0.157 from 45kit260), but the problem
is still there.
The driver will not correctly perform a Netbios broadcast
over Decnet. When a NET LOGON is issued and DecNet is
on LANA 0, there will be a NET3778 error.
When Pathworks TCPIP is loaded on LANA 0, everything will
work OK, including the NET LOGON.
When the server name is defined in the local NCP database
with the MSNet bit on, the NET LOGON will (naturally)
still fail, but the connections ( net use ...) will be
established normally, USING THE DECNET PROTOCOL !
In TIMA I found an article from 1996 describing the same
problem, and in the meantime perhaps there is already a
solution developed ?

7404.1 | | SPELNK::curless | Sure it's a bug, but did you CLD/QAR it? | Fri Jun 06 1997 10:32 | 7 |

Check with the network adapter folks... as the PATHWORKS group does
not generate the native drivers for the DE450.
... you might consider using NDIS, it works.
