7399.0. "Token ring source routing" by NNTPD::"[email protected]" (mion Flavio) Mon May 26 1997 10:10

Hello,

A customer of my is asking How to disable "SOURCE ROUTING" on Decnet protocol
in Pathwork for Windows95.
The version of the product is
                   1.0 a with echo 1
All is working well but we need to disable source routing for a problem with a
bridge.
Thanks in advance.

Source routing would be disabled in the Datalink layer, not DECnet... so
there might be something in the documentation about it there.

I'd be interested to know what "problem" is in the bridge.... Either
source routing is needed or it isn't.... fixing the bridge is a far better
thing to do than shutting down source routing. Thing WILL BREAK if you
assume that the bridge will fix everything for you.

7399.2Cisco BridgeNNTPD::"[email protected]"Mion FlavioMon Jun 02 1997 12:0010
The problem is that the customer has installed a CISCO CATALIST 2600
a trasparent bridge, but after the this istallation the PC with Pathworks over
Token Ring can't talk through the bridge.
The engineer that installed it said that this is because the pc is using
Source Routing that is not supported by Cisco 2600.
We are looking also how to set the Cisco to support Source Routing.
Thanks for your help.
