7350.0. "Eicon "Diva Pro" ISDN pc card" by ROMTSS::TAMPELLONI () Wed Mar 05 1997 12:22

Hi.

An Italian customer has installed around three years ago five PC clients with
Pathworks for Dos ISDN V1.0 (PWRK V4.1 like) using TCP/IP over X25 connected by
an ISDN 64Kb line with an "OST" ISDN board (PC/ISA bus) and all was ok.
Now he needs to install some other PC clients with Pathworks but unfortunately
he can't recognize that board in commerce now and he bought an "EICON Diva Pro"
ISDN board (PC/ISA bus), with this board Eicon Technology ships only the Windows
3.x drivers.

How can I install this board with Pathworks for Dos V1.0 ?

And if it's impossible to do this can I install this board using Pathworks V6.0
for Dos/Windows using external drivers ("Eicon Diva Pro" is not included in the
four ISDN board provided by PWRK 6.0, configuring it as "Eicon Diva" at the
drivers startup the adapter is not found by the software) ?

Which are internals Digital P/N for "OST" and "EICON Diva" board ?

Thanks in advance,

                                    Marco.

You can't do it with the V1 product (which stopped being supported a
long time ago).

About PATHWORKS V6, it's true the Diva Pro was not out when we
released the software, and I don't know the difference between the
Diva and the Diva Pro. If the board ships with Windows drivers only,
it may well be not supported under DOS ?

I guess your options are:

1/ Get a Diva instead of the Diva Pro.

2/ Ask Eicon if the Diva Pro can work under DOS (drivers ?). If the
answer is yes, try to fit that into PATHWORKS V6. You can do it
yourself or you can ask PATHWORKS Product Management. That would
probably be considered as a new feature though, and I don't think
anything is being added to the DOS product line.
