7332.0. "Pathworks and IBM AIX" by VMSNET::FARLOW_J () Fri Feb 14 1997 10:20
I have a customer that wants to use a common NOS client (hopefully
Pathworks v6 DOS/Windows) to connect to the following:
IBM LANSERVER for AIX (or also known as AIX Connection 4.15)
Pathworks 4.x and 5.x servers
NT Servers
other OS/2 Servers
All connections work fine except the IBM AIX server connection. The
error they get when trying to connect to the AIX system with the USE
command is NETWORK NAME NOT FOUND. They are using the TCPIP transport
for all connections and to all other systems (listed above) it works.
We are able to ping, telnet, and ftp to the IBM AIX system. We put the
IBM server in the NBHOSTS file using Inetname still no luck.
OS/2 Warp clients can connect to this IBM AIX server but if pathworks
for OS/2 is installed, then they no longer connect. This is a seperate
issue and they would rather get the DOS/Windows clients working.
One other thing, WIN95 clients (no pathworks) also will not connect.
Any help would be appreciated,
Jerry
