Dear All,
Im not sure where to ask this but I thought this maybe a starting
point, so here goes.
I have a customer who is running the latest Novell NT client with
Pathworks for OpenVMS (Netware) V1.0-430D and can do the following:
He can attach to the server and can map a drive to the server, but
when he tries to display anything on the drive the problems start.
1. Browsing from explorer or file manager shows nothing.
2. DIR from the command prompt show nothing.
3. NDIR works.
4. FILER works.
It is ONLY this version of the client that has the problem, DOS NETX &
VLM clients and Novell 32bit WIN95 clients all work.
Novell have said it must be a problem with the server software
(typical) and suspect the problem may be caused by incompatible NCP
packets but that was all they could come up with.
I told the customer the bug is in Novell's new client bits in which
he went back to Novell who said that the new NT client isn't compatible
with anything before 3.11 and that's how it's documented and supposed
to be, so my customer is now stating that this is a pain, as it means
the recently bought 50 user licenses for Pathworks for OpenVMS (Netware)
is going to become less and less useful as more people upgrade to NT.
So the question is are there any plans to upgrade the NCP
functionallity within PWVN to support these new style calls
(he asks hopefully)?

I think this is an issue that you've raised with Dave Cook and Dave is trying to contact someone at Novell to get more information on the matter and any possible solutions. We are not planning to make any major changes to this server, but, it's unclear at this point, what would need to be done to support this change.
