7310.0. "pathworks ncp remote-adapter-names limit" by KERNEL::SIMEONC () Mon Jan 27 1997 10:30

    Pathworks for dos windows v6.0
    Windows for Workgroup v3.11

    Does anyone know the maximum number of NCP REMOTE-ADAPTER-NAME that can
    be set up with pathworks and wfw 3.11?

    I have a customer who is unable to set up more than 3 remote-adapter-names
    under wfw but can set up more than 10 using Windows 95, Pathworks 95.
    Is the limit dependent on the operating system or Pathworks?

    Regards,
    Cass Simeon,

7310.1Looks like 3 is defaultVMSNET::P_NUNEZMon Jan 27 1997 14:148

    From the WfW client, run NCP and do SHOW EXEC - you'll see the last
    entry is Remote adapter names and a default of 3.

    Fix it by doing DEFINE EXEC REMOTE <new-value>
    and reboot...

    Paul,

    I tried above but the default value still remained unchanged after
    reboot. Is it possible that this parameter is not supported in
    pathworks v6, any thing to do with the use of virtual decnet drivers
    in v6?

7310.3How 'bout this?VMSNET::P_NUNEZTue Jan 28 1997 10:477
    Cass,

    I see what you mean. Try adding the qualifer /REM:<new-value> to the
    line that loads DNP.EXE in your template file...(see pg 2-26 of v5.1
    Client Commands Reference guide).

    Paul, thanks, above worked.
