There are no internals design documents available for the AdvFS data
structures. Questions about the commands you mentioned, and others, are
addressed in the man pages (version 4.0), and in the AdvFS "Guide to File
System Administration" (AA-QTPZA-TE).
I will see about getting more info re: question 2.

This field is produced via a rather peculiar set of calculations, which
involves several variables, including number of extents. However, the total
number of files affects it as well, and in the special case where there was
only a single very large file, it would always be 100%, regardless of how
many extents that file had.
Does your domain/fileset with the large database files contains a small
total number of files?

| Regarding showfile's "Perf" of 100% on a database file with many extents:
If the database file is a sparse file, where each extent is separated from
adjacent extents by a hole, then it's as efficient as it can be.
In the following example, each 8 or 9 page extent is separated from the next one
by a 6 or 7 page hole. (And no, I can't explain why it's a 97% Perf instead of
100%.)
