1053.0. "vquotacheck, run manually ??" by BERGEN::ARVID () Tue Apr 29 1997 04:07
Hello,
I have an Advfs question I hope someone can answer:
1. Advfs file-sets...
At Norsk Hydro in Bergen,Norway we have set up a Unix cluster (ASE). When
we set it up, there were problems with vquotacheck. We were helped with
a workaround: vquotacheck was not run during the service startup. The
customer now wants to know: should they run vquotacheck manually and if
so, how often should they run it ?
regards

1053.1 | yes, run quotacheck - but -a busted | RUSURE::KATZ | | Tue Apr 29 1997 21:11 | 11 |
| The quotacheck should always be run at service startup, but not with
-a option (unless you have the unofficial patched version) since it
had the side effect of carrying incorrect statistics into the target
filesystems. However the bug would not occur in the absence of the -a
option. And the quotacheck program is a good way to correct for known
accounting bugs.
