1045.0. "Problem with Vrestore Under 4.0b; multi-volume 3.2c vdumps won't restore" by NNTPD::"[email protected]" (Alex Williams) Wed Apr 16 1997 12:35

4.0b system can restore single-volume vdump backups made under 3.2c and 
multi-volume vdump backups made under 4.0b, but multi-volume dumps made 
under 3.2c restores the first tape correctly, but the second fails with 
"can't open /dev/nrmt0h" and an errno that indicates a permission problem!  
Customer has tried using the 3.2c executable with the same results.

Any thoughts/clues?

QAR 52065 stated problem of reading 3.2d QIC150 tape.  Is the problem
here similar? Otherwise, I think you should file a QAR.

I'd be happy to look at QAR 52065, but the QAR Web interface at 
http://webster.zk3.dec.com/webqar says that QAR is "Access Restricted," so 
determining similarity is a bit ... difficult.

COMET is unable to come up with an entry for it either.  :/

It doesn't appear that I have the same problem as that documented in the QAR,
so I'll file a new one.  It may be a related problem, but its doubtful.
