985.1 | My experience... | DAIVC::SUGIYONO | | Wed Jan 29 1997 01:31 | 12 |
| Hi,
I got the same error message when I intend to restore the DU V3.2g
from the tape to the new disk.
This problem came up when I used the 3.2g CD-ROM to restore the
tape.
What I'd done then, was take the 4.0a CD-ROM and restore the tape to
the new disk. It work successfully.
Regards,
Sugiyono

| I'm not sure if a patch for 3.2G was ever made,
but 877.9 explains what is going on. If someone
knows if a patch has been made, please post the
patch number.

Sugiyono & Marier,
Thanks for your responses.
I did go thru' note no 877 also. After working with the customer, I
have come up with the exact problem. Please see note 995 herein.

985.4 | so vrestore on 3.2g won't work at all??!! | KERNEL::COFFEYJ | La Feline Flooz - a unix cat | Tue Apr 15 1997 03:35 | 10 |
| Are there any other ways around this??
I have a customer who has a system installed from the same CD (3.2g)
that he is now trying to vrestore a backup through.
Of course when booted off the CD trying to restore it complains that
it wants v4 restore - this is a system installed 3.2g, backed up 3.2g and
now the restore doesn't work cause it reckons having everything at the same
version won't do... eh?
