MY customer bought two ALPHASTATION 255/300 system, the system graphic
cards is PBXGB-AA, TGA2/2mb 2D 8-plan PCI graphic accelerator card.
Customer found that when he installed VMS V6.2 and VMS V6.2-1h3 on his
system, he cannot startup the decwindow motify.

%DECW$DEVICE-i-NODEVICE, no graphic device found

When customer uses the sysman to do autoconfigure, it displays the following
error.

SYSMAN > IO AUTO/LOG
SYSMAN > %IOGEN-E-LOADERR, error configuring device GYA0, driver
         sys%GYCDRIVER-RMS-E_FNF, file not found.

Anyone knows the problem ? Any advice should be appreciated.

Old problem: no driver support for Powerstorm graphics boards is included in
OpenVMS < V7.1 (so the SYS$GYCDRIVER.EXE and other files are missing). You need
to install Open3D >= V3.2. The actual driver support for graphic boards is
always developed from Open3D-engineering, and later included in following
VMS-Versions. You need no license for Open3D if you need only 2D-functionality.
See SYS$UPDATE:VMSINSTAL.HISTORY for versions of installed layered products. See
http://andice.alf.dec.com/www/graphics_summary/graphics_summary.html for
detailed information.
