This is not quite a technical question and I'm not sure if this note is a suitable place for asking. If not, please tell me a right conference. One of our customers wants to get information about bugs which have been fixed in Motif V1.2-3. And he insists Didital should provide not only the OPENBUGS information (decw$motif_osf_bug_list_v12.txt) but also CLOSEDBUGS. My questions are: 1. Are we responsible for prividing CLOSEDBUGS information too ? 2. Can I give him the material in GOOEY::MOTIF$PUBLIC:[DOCS.1-2-3] ? Internal use only ? 3. How can he request the information from OSF ? Regards, Junshi

There shouldn't be a problem with providing the closedbugs. file from GOOEY::MOTIF$PUBLIC: to the customer. Since we have this information and the customer is asking for it, sending them the file sounds like the right thing to do. -- Bob | |||||

Bob, thank you for your quick response. But I'm still wondering if there is any reason we don't supply CLOSEDBUGS list with the new release of Motif kit. I believe this information also helps programmers to develop. He said that he would persuade his customers to do an upgrade to Motif V1.2-3 if he was clearly convinced a bug had been fixed. I'm not sure why CLOSEBUGS isn't shipped on the DECwindows Motif kit. If you or your customer would like this changed in future versions of DECwindows Motif you could enter a suggestion IPMT case, but since DECwindows is now in maintenance mode this might not be changed if it's considered a "new feature". -- Bob |
