5929.0. "Did Motif 1.2-4 change the help default font?" by ACISS2::POLISHAK (Jeff Polishak, 517-793-3450) Thu Feb 20 1997 12:54

Hi,

Hopefully a simple question.

I am working with a customer and we went from MOTIF 1.2-3 to 1.2-4 and
everything looked fine except we noticed that when we open up the Help windows
from our application they come up using a different font. In version 1.2-3 it
use to select a fixed font and this worked fine. With version 1.2-4 it seems
to select a proportional font and this messes up some of our tables and
figures. We went through all the DECW$*.DAT files in DECW$SYSTEM_DEFAULTS,
DECW$USER_DEFAULTS and SYS$LOGIN to make sure nothing changed, and everything
seems to be the same. Is there an easy way to change help font back? Could we
modify the UIL file to get a different font for help?

Thanks in advance for the help,
Jeff Polishak

We are running on:

	VAX 4000 model 60 running OpenVMS V6.2 and on a
	Alpha Model 255 running OpenVMS V6.2-1H2
	Both systems have the same problem.

Here is the help section out of our UIL

        main_help : DXmHelpDialog
        {
            arguments
            {
                DXmNapplicationName = compound_string("Dynamic TRAN");
                DXmNglossaryTopic = compound_string("glossary");
                DXmNoverviewTopic = compound_string("Dynamic_TRAN");
                DXmNlibrarySpec = compound_string("OS_HELP_LIB");
            };
            callbacks
            {
                MrmNcreateCallback = procedure dda_create_widget( dda_cw_main_h
            };
        };
