4949.0. "lat connection not cleaned up" by UTRTSC::KNOPPERS (Oswald Knoppers) Wed Mar 12 1997 04:41
Hi,
An application (running on VAX/VMS V6.2) initiates connections (HIC) to a
number of ports on a DECserver 700-8 (V1.1a bl45). Four ports have a normal
modem connected and two have an ISDN modem.
This VMS system has two ethernet interfaces (qna and isa), on both ethernets
a lat link is created.
User dial in on thes modem and ISDN lines and are then using this application.
When the user is finished he disconnects the telephone or ISDN connection.
The application gets a hangup and will then reconnect to the decserver port.
For the normal modem lines this works fine. On the ISDN lines however, the
hangup is not received in the application. Latcp shows that the lta device is
still connected, on the server however the port is idle. Also a latcp show
connection/full stll shows a VC to this DECserver with multiple sessions
including this one...
I can imagine that the modem signal timing is different on the ISDN modem but
I dont understand how it is possible that the terminal servers port state is
idle while VMS still thinks the lta device is connected.
Has anybody seen anything like this?
Regards,
Oswald
