4947.0. "lat bursty after install of fddi" by UTRTSC::KNOPPERS (Oswald Knoppers) Thu Feb 27 1997 04:18
Hi,
My customer has a couple of Alphas. Recently in these systems a FDDI card
was installed. The latlink was modified to start using the FDDI link.
Incoming lat connections work fine. But if you do a 'set host/lat' the
response is slow. If you type one character, it takes about to 1 second
before it gets echoed. When typing a number of character echoing is bursty.
The weird thing is that when doing a set host/lat to the node itself, you
get exactly the same results.
In the lat counters there are no retransmissions or duplicates.
One other thing is that this customer also has one alfa where a fddi
interface was installed and *also* the ethernet interface was removed. This
system doesn't show this behaviour.
All systems run VMS V6.2.
Any ideas were to look?
Regards,
Oswald
