2197.0. "STORAGE LOAD VOLUME 'requests volume to be loaded ontp drive with volume loaded'" by KERNEL::ANDERSONS () Thu Feb 13 1997 10:44

Hello all,

My customer has a problem loading volumes. STORAGE LOAD VOLUME requests for the
volume to be loaded into the drive that the tape is already in. This was first
found when trying to restore a file. The opcom message is as one would expect if
the volume wasn't in the drive. TAPMGRRQ has the drive allocated and the process
is in LEF.

A normal backup operation requesting the tape to be loaded is ok.

Enviroment: DEC 3000 VMS V6.1, SLS V2.8, TLZ07(local drive on standalone system)

Any ideas?

Scott.

Hi,

Can anyone suggest how to further troubleshoot this?

Hi Scott,

If this is only happening on restores, try turning on the following
logicals...

RESTORXEQ_VERIFY on the LNM$SLS$VALUES

and setting verify on in the SLS$SYSTEM:RESTORXXX_BACKUP.COM

Your two log files should then have a lot more information in them.
You can post them here if you'd like. You might also put your
TAPESTART.COM here as well.
